Kindred

In 1976, Dana dreams of being a writer. In 1815, she is assumed to be a slave. On her twenty-sixth birthday, Dana is suddenly wrenched through time to a Maryland plantation. Rufus, the white son of a slaveholder, is drowning. Without thinking, Dana rushes into the river to save him. In that moment, neither Dana nor Rufus knows who they are to each other. But they will meet again and again as he realises his power to summon her whenever his life is threatened.
